About me
Hello and welcome to Myoga website. My name is Chris and I'm passionate about all aspects of Yoga and the benefits it can bring to to all people.
I have practiced yoga for over 15 years and my love of yoga has only grown stronger with every step I take on this wonderful journey.
After completing my initial 200 hour training in India in 2016 I soon discovered there was so much more to learn both to enhance my teaching abilities and for my personal growth.
My passion caused me to seek out dedicated teachers from different yoga disciplines, backgrounds and more teacher trainings. This has included, 500 hours Teacher Training , Yin Yoga TT, Kids Yoga TT, Yoga for Anxiety TT, Pranayama TT, Pregnancy TT, and more recently Level 1 and 2 in Yoga Anatomy and Postural Alignment to become a Corrective Yoga Posture and Alignment Specialist.
One of the most important things I've recognised on my path, is that not one style of yoga suits all. And, more importantly, our bodies are all very different and that determines the range of motion we have in all yoga postures. Therefore my aim is to allow students of all abilities and backgrounds to have access to yoga and enjoy the benefits in a welcoming, supportive environment. We were all beginners once and I never loose sight of this.
My emphasis is not on making the best shapes but on mindful breath, awareness, alignment and the integrity of your practise.

Christine Heslop
I started practising yoga over 15 years ago to help with my running injuries.
I gravitated towards the physical practices of Ashtanga and Hot Yoga and at the beginning I saw yoga simply as another form of exercise.
The more I practiced yoga the more I started to realise there was so much more to yoga than just the body- centred yoga practice (Asana). I began to study and practice the other aspects of yoga (the eight limbs , Ayurveda , Yoga philosophy ) and this was a transformation for me, both mentally and spiritually.
I'd like to share with you a yogic adage from the Upanishads :
"Understanding without practice is better than practice without understanding. Understanding with practice is better than understanding without practice,
Resting in our authentic nature is better than any understanding or practice."
Nothing makes me happier than seeing those I teach enjoy their practice, feel good physically and mentally and feel inspired to challenge themselves.
